Who We Are

We're a community-led costume library based in Burton upon Trent, helping schools, colleges, youth theatres and groups access affordable costumes for performances.

Whether you're putting on a play, showcase, or community event, we're here to make costumes more accessible, sustainable and inclusive.

What We Do

We collect and organise donated costumes, offering low-cost hire to grassroots groups. Student volunteers help photograph, catalogue and manage the collection, gaining real experience along the way.

Why It Matters

Creative arts should be open to everyone. By reusing costumes and providing volunteering opportunities, we help young people - especially those with additional needs - build skills, confidence and real-world experience.

It's about inclusion - and giving everyone a chance to take part, onstage or behind the scenes.

Explore our collection

Our costume library includes full show sets, principle character costumes, and ensemble basics - ready for your next production. Our sets are flexible to suit your requirements.

Worried about cost? Contact us. We're committed to helping you find a way to create your show.

Get Involved

You can help by donating costumes, volunteering your time, or supporting our fundraising.

Burton Costume Project does not offer bespoke costume design services. Any styling or show-specific use is the responsibility of the hirer. While we’re happy to suggest items that may suit your production, this is informal guidance only and not professional design advice.
